Most "Black and White" pictures actually are more about shades of grey. They are low on the black, because black is hard to see and has no shading.
Of course these pure black wallpapers are not really PURE black either. If they were it would be a pretty boring black rectangle. But they are all over 70% black. They leave a lot of nice black canvas for icons and such, while still showcasing strong and arresting images. In other words, if you find one that you love, it could be one of the best wallpapers out there for you. Enjoy!
